PHP HISTORY

In December 1991, a group of concerned Payson citizens met to address problems of housing and utility payments for low income and fixed income families. Many families were experiencing difficulty during the winter months.

A fundraiser dance, auction and raffle were held. The resulting funds and private donations were placed into an account called “Payson Helping Payson” at Bank of America.

PHP was so successful in helping needy families through the cold winter months that a decision was made to continue this charitable organization in Payson.

PHP works with other community assistance programs such as CAP (Community Action Program), churches, Salvation Army and St. Vincent De Paul to aid qualified candidates.

PHP is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization composed of about 15 members. The Board meets each quarter to review all aspects of the program and to ensure that PHP continues to be administered according to its charter.
